Hyderabad: The Southwest Monsoon turned normal in coastal Andhra and active across Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Thursday. Rain occurred at most places in the coastal and Rayalaseema districts, the Met department bulletin said.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the state were: Chintur (East Godavari), Araku Valley (Vishakhapatnam) 5 each, Balajipeta, Kurupam (both in Vizianagaram), Veeraghattam (Srikakulam), Komarada (Vizianagaram) 4 each.

The bulletin said there was 3 cm rain each in Merakamudidam, Garugubilli, Pathapatnam, Parvathipuram, Therlam, Ichchapuram, Vallur, Uravakonda, Kamalapuram.

Two cm of rain each occurred in Simhadripuram, Proddutur, Lakkireddipalle, Singanamala, Rajupalem, Jammalamadugu, Holagunda, Srisailam, Alur, Paderu, Kunavaram, Jiyyammavalasa, Kukunoor, Polavaram, Gantyada, Velairpad, Sattenapalle,Gajapathinagaram, Nellimarla, Tekkali, Mentada, Bondapalle, Chintapalle, Bobbili, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Vararamachandrapur, Sompeta, Dowleshwaram, Chintapalle, Bapatla, Chodavaram, Koyyalagudem, Salur, Racherla, Atchampet, Peddapuram.
