Vijayawada: The venue of the Quadrangular cricket series was shifted from Vijayawada to Bangalore on account of continuous rain and bad weather conditions, according to CR Ramesh, Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) media advisor on Sunday.

Earlier, four teams-- Australia A, India A, India B and South Africa A-- reached Vijayawada on August 14 to participate in the quadrangular cricket series and now they will play the remaining matches at Bangalore after reaching Bangalore on Monday.

He said that all the remaining matches were called off at Mulapadu and the matches of the quadrangular series would start from Tuesday at Bangalore.

He said that Mulapadu Stadium was totally covered with plastic sheets due to uninterrupted rain for the last three days.

As the rain was still continuing, the ground covers got displaced making the situation worse.

The organisers, match referee, umpires and others after inspecting the pitch came to a conclusion of calling off further matches and changed the venue for the remaining matches, said Ramesh.
