Amaravati: Come elections, it is raining jobs in Andhra Pradesh. Apparently to take the unemployed youths on board, Chandrababu Naidu government has cleared recruitment to 20,000 vacancies in various departments at one go.

The Chief Minister on Tuesday gave the go ahead signal to the officials to release the notification. The recruitment would be done through Group I, II and III, DSC, Police Department, the Chief Minister’s Office said in a statement.

The posts include 150 in Group I cadre, 250 in Group II and 1,670 in Group III. In addition, 9,275 posts to be filled through DSC, and more than 3,000 posts to be filled in police department, about 1,600 in Medical and Health Department and nearly 1,650 vacancies in other departments.

Then there will be 310 polytechnic lecturer posts, 200 junior lecturer posts, 10 APREI society posts, 5 APREI society degree college lecturer posts and 200 degree college posts.

In the Information and Public Relations department, the Chief Minister directed filling 21 existing vacancies, including four DPROs, 12 APROs and five DETE posts.

The posts to be filled through DSC include 9,275, including vacancies in ZP, and MPP schools, 5,000 municipal school vacancies, 1,100 residential schools, 750 social welfare residential schools, 500 scheduled area ashram schools, 350 BC welfare residential school posts and 175 APREI society.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to complete the appointment process as soon as possible. The APPSC and DSC are likely to issue notification soon.

The Chief Minister has also introduced a bill in Assembly on Monday, for absorbing existing ad hoc medical staff in various semi-autonomous medical institutions in the state. In addition to that, Chandrababu Naidu launched dedicated web portal to provide unemployment allowance to the youth through Mukyamantri Yuvanestam, a welfare scheme to be rolled out from October 2.
