19 cases registered against traders

Vijayawada: Officials of the department of legal metrology conducted raids on the shops at Pandit Nehru Bus Station here on Wednesday and booked 19 cases on the traders for selling food items and other products for excess prices, without labels and using outdated weighing machines. 

Assistant controller of legal metrology department PSR N Swamy said foreign chocolates were being sold at Rs 150 by a trader and there was no price and details of manufacturing date. He said sanitary napkins and soft drinks were being sold at excess price by some traders. He said 19 cases were registered against the traders.
