Pithapuram: He is a police officer of the law enforcement authority. He has to take care of 20 villages under his station limits. But, he seldom uses official vehicle nor does he use a motor cycle.
He uses a mountain bike, locally called a cycle. The cycling makes him fit and he is also making his contribution to the environment. He is B Krishnamachary, the sub inspector at U Kothapalli station.
He started using a cycle right from he assumed charge here. He uses his official vehicle only when he has to go long distances.
Speaking to The Hans India, Krishnamachary said that using the cycle is nothing but living healthy.
“Using the four-wheeler does not allow much physical activity. By avoiding motor vehicle, we can save soaring oil prices as well as reducing the pollution,” the SI said.
He always carries his cycle along with him wherever he transferred. He inculcated the habit of cycling to his children and also suggests his staff to follow it.
