Vijayawada: Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate Tourism Development Project works taken up under the Swadeshi Darshan Scheme on Monday. The Tourism department completed the construction of various projects valued at Rs 230 crore in the coastal districts under the scheme.

Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the projects from Tirupati through a digital system. He will be inaugurating the projects: “Development Kakinada-Hope Island, Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary at S Yanam – Kotipally, Development of Nellore- Pullicat Lake, Ubblamadugu Water Falls - Nelapattu -Kothakoduru- Mypadu - Ramateertham – Iskapalli.” Union Minister of State for Tourism KJ Alphons, AP Minister for Tourism B Akhila Priya and the Union Tourism Secretary will also be participating in the programme.

The projects are the first projects taken up under the Swadesh Drashan Scheme in the Southern Region. The scheme is one of the flagship schemes of the Ministry of Tourism for development of thematic circuits in the country in a planned and prioritized manner. Under this scheme, the government is focusing on development of quality infrastructure in the country with objective of providing better experience and facilities to the visitors on one hand and on other hand fostering the economic growth.
