Ongole: The KIMS Hospital, Ongole celebrated the World Arthritis Day on Friday along with 100 patients who have taken joint replacement treatment with them earlier and now has no issues.

The hospital executive director, Talluru Giri Naidu said that they organised an awareness programme about the arthritis and the joint replacement surgeons Prakash Chavala and G Kamalasan explained the symptoms, remedy and treatment options available.

Dr Prakash said that those people who are suffering with knee joint pains in young age can get relief with the platelet rich plasma treatment.

Dr Kamalasan said that they had conducted about 700 knee and hip replacement surgeries in the hospital and they were using the implants that could work up to 30 years without any issue.

The hospital medical superintendent, S Venkateswarlu said that more than 100 patients, who have replaced their joints in the KIMS Hospital and healthy now, participated in the one km walk and one km cycling competition.

He said that they presented prizes to the winners as a token of their confidence and participation.

The KIMS general manager, Satuluri Narasimha Murthy said that the hospital had introduced a special offer up to October 22 and was conducting tests under arthritis package worth Rs 3840 for just Rs 800 only.

He also announced that they were offering special discount to the first 100 patients who register with them for knee joint replacement surgery.

The marketing manager of the hospital, T Govardhan, medical and non-medical supporting staff also participated in the arthritis day celebrations.
