Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused YSRCP leaders of pinning the blame on the state government and TDP for the attack on their party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy by one of their party supporter. He said the YSRCP was indulging in unethical politics in the state, which would not do good for the society.

Taking part in a teleconference on Neeru-Pragati at his residence in Undavalli on Monday, the Chief Minister said that the YSRCP leaders were trying to portray the attack on their leader as a plot by TDP only with an aim of deriving political mileage out of it, despite knowing very well that the accused was a diehard supporter of their party.

“On one hand, the Centre is misusing investigation agencies against the TDP and on the other hand the YSRCP leaders are resorting to crooked politics in the state,” he said.

The Chief Minister said TDP had joined the NDA expecting support for the development of truncated state, but the BJP government betrayed them after getting sufficient number of seat in Lok Sabha to rule on its own.

He alleged that the BJP now had started harassing TDP leaders and creating problems in the governance. He reiterated his charge that the BJP was misusing Central investigative agencies like Income Tax, CBI, ED, CVC and others to stifle its opponents.

On Neeru-Pragati, Chandrababu Naidu noted that the state government was able to supply adequate water to crops by effective implementation of scheme despite deficit rainfall. Stating that the state would get rain in the next one week, he directed the officials to take necessary action and monitor the rains carefully.

He said that state needs more than 540 tmc ft of water every year. Even after utilising the surface and ground water, there will be at least 260 tmc shortfall. He said that the ground water is still only 9.8 metre below the ground. The Chief Minister asked stakeholders to use water properly through minor irrigation.
