Vijayawada: Nagarjuna University commerce department former HoD V Vijayaratnam said the moment of unity by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was commendable and should be an inspiration to the young generation. Vijayaratnam participated as the chief guest at National Unity Day organised by KBN College here on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, he said that India was the only country across the world with one culture and tradition. However, due to invasions by various kings small kingdoms were formed and Sardar Patel’s determination to unite all the princely states after independence was commendable.
He rendered his service for the development of the country as a freedom fighter, politician and Union minister, he added.
The college secretary and correspondant, T Srinivas, principal Dr V Narayana Rao and others spoke. The college vice-principal, E Varaprasad, Dr Naveen Kumar, PG centre director Dr V Narasimha Rao and others were present on the occasion.
