Visakhapatnam: On the second day of two-day Bheemili Utsav, the celebrations were started on a grand note at Bheemili in Visakhapatnam district on Sunday.

Over 25,000 people from various walks of life had participated in the Utsav. The district administration and department of tourism have jointly organised the Bheemili Utsav. The State government is conducting the Utsav every year for the past four years as part of promoting tourism in the district. Former minister Appala Narasimha Raju and DLDA Chairman Venkatappadu and local leaders had started the Utsav this year.

As part of utsav, traditional and customised programmes including ‘Jalari dance’ and Thimsa dance were performed. Many sports and cultural events took place at Bheemili and cricket players from various districts had participated in the tournament.

The competition amongst the fishermen along with their country boat (Janda Panduga) had attracted a lot of tourist attention during the utsav. Students from various schools and colleges had displayed their cultural skills.

The boat competitions on the blue waters and musical concert had enthralled the audience. At the end of the programme, the bursting of firecrackers attracted the audience.

On the second day, the small screen stars entertained the audience with their programmes and noted Kuchipudi dancers performed the cultural programmes.
