Vijayawada: In recognition of the best performance of Andhra Pradesh in the power distribution network, European Union-Indian Smart Grid Forum (EU- ISGF) has invited AP Southern Power Distribution Company Ltd (APSPDCL) to showcase their best practices, which are being implemented, in strengthening the distribution network.
The sixth European Union-India Smart Grid workshop is being held from November 19 to 22 in Florence, Italy. Chief Secretary Anil Chandra Punetha has issued orders deputing CMD of APSPDCL M M Nayak to attend the prestigious workshop. Consequently, Nayak left for Italy on Monday morning.
High-level dignitaries of several countries will attend the EU- ISGF workshop. The EU-ISGF has invited the APSPDCL to share its best practices in distribution network.
The APSPDCL was ranked top in successful implementation of the Deendayal Upadhyay Grameena Jyothi Yojana (DDUGJY) and Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) that will be briefed by Nayak to the delegates at the workshop.
Besides, important issues related to electric vehicles, energy storage, including charging infrastructure vehicle to grid and cost-effective renewable energy etc will be discussed in the workshop. Principal Secretary for Energy and CRDA Ajay Jain congratulating the APSPDCL for getting the recognition, directed Nayak to brief the delegates in the conference on the significant developments in power distribution sector made so far.
Ajay Jain in a statement on Monday said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was keen on introducing the electric vehicles in all government departments and the AP government has already entered into an MoU with the Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) for getting one lakh electric vehicles in a phased manner.
Minister for Energy, K Kala Venkata Rao, congratulated APSPDCL for getting invitation to participate in the international workshop.Principal Secretary, IT, CMD of AP Transco and MD of AP GENCO K Vijayanand, JMDs of AP Transco Dinesh Paruchuri and other officials congratulated M M Nayak on the occasion.
