Vijayawada: Buddhist remains of the Satavahana times comprised of Palnadu lime stone panels depicted with linear carvings are noticed at Srikakulam, a temple town in Krishna district on Saturday.

Based on the information provided by the local people, Dr E Sivanagireddy, CEO, Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravathi, who is also an expert in Buddhist archaeology inspected the panels and confirmed that they belonged to the Satavahana period, i.e., 2000 years old and were used to encase the stupa all around .
