Blind beliefs harmful to society
Factfinding is the key for science, the socalled science without proof is pseudoscience, said Gora Science Centre Director Niyanta
Vijayawada: “Fact-finding is the key for science, the so-called science without proof is pseudo-science,” said Gora Science Centre Director Niyanta.
Participating in the award distribution ceremony of essay writing competition at the Atheist centre here on Thursday, he said that the society would not develop if people believe in pseudo science.
He said that superstition is just a belief which is not true. After a detailed examination, we can say whether it is science or pseudo science, he added.
“The current society is trying to believe the things that have no proofs and our country lists top in believing the things that don’t have proofs,” he lamented.
Later, Dr Samaram advised the students to work hard to reach their goals in their selective fields rather than blindly believing superstitions.
He said that social development will depend only on the key factors like health, social awareness among the people.
The students who won the essay writing competition were given prizes.
Dr Vijayam, Hari Subramanyam, G Sakala along with other members were present.
