One needs to stand up for self and ignore society talking behind you. “Failure is important in life and teaches you a lot, improves you. The fear of failure should be abandoned and that will help you take bigger steps,” says Rajitha Boorugu, Director PwCPL.

Vaishali Neotia, CEO Merxius, drew upon nuggets from her life experiences when she pursued engineering. “After my engineering my parents thought I will be doing a job and ‘settle down’. But I took a different path and ventured into entrepreneurship and I opened my firm (along with a friend), which is into coding. Today we are doing well.” She said she had overcome many hurdles like unacceptance ofsociety when she wanted to do engineering or take up entrepreneurship-etc., but she defied all the odds and is proud of what she has become today.

She flew planes like Dreamliner for Air India. She struck a path of her own to become a pilot against odds. Shoma Sur, Commander Air India shared, “Initially my parents didn't agree when I wanted to become pilot, but later my family supported me a lot. It is an expensive affair for which my father worked hard. At that time I was having a three-months-old baby and the posting was open for only 19 pilots and 3,000 pilots applied. I was lucky to be selected.”

Ajita Yogesh - Managing Director Hamstech, too defied all odds and opened one of the most successful institutes of Fashion Designing in the country. Shobha Dixit - Director Alpla India Pvt Ltd, highlighted the pressure of working in the field, which is enormous. She keeps it going with her sheer zeal and passion. –
