The production plan for the crossover has been revised twice since launch to cope up with strong demands.Waiting period for the Maruti Vitara Brezza is set to decrease from July as the automaker will increase the production capacity to 10,000 units per month. The sub-4 metre compact crossover which was launched in March has been receiving a tremendous response in the market.

Maruti initially planned to produce 80,000 units of the Vitara Brezza in the first year. This was earlier revised to 100,000 units on the back of a strong demand and now its revised again to 120,000 units.

According to Economic Times, Maruti’s vendors are asked to prepare for the production increase of the Brezza from the month of July. The automaker has managed to sell 20,588 units the crossover between April and May, and has a backlog of 52,000 orders.

The company’s production plants in Manesar and Gurgaon are running at full capacity so the additional output of the Brezza comes from de-bottlenecking the lines and making internal adjustments of production plans of various models.

The recent reports and data suggest that Maruti has been favoring its new comers, the Baleno and Vitara Brezza, by borrowing the production volume from the likes of Maruti Swift, Dzire and Alto. With the Ignis mini SUV in line for the launch, it’s important for Maruti that Suzuki sticks to its schedule for the opening of Gujarat plant.
