Honda has unveiled the European version of the 2017 Civic Hatchback which will make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show. It will be slightly different from it’s North American counterpart, due to amber colored side accents and positioning of twin exhaust pipes at the rear.

2017 Honda Civic Hatchback will be offered in LX, Sport, EX, EX-L and Sport Touring trims and will receive the same 1.5 liter inline 4 engine also powering the Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe.

This engine will offer 174 hp power and 162 lb/ft torque on the LX, EX and EX-L trims going upto 180 hp and 162 lb/ft where the Sport and Sport Touring trims are concerned. Power is sent to front wheels via the choice of a 6 speed manual or CVT.

2017 Honda Civic Hatchback receives design elements also seen on the Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe. Enhanced capacity in cabin and cargo area is evident with 36” legroom at the rear and cargo space surpassed by none in the compact segment. Onboard features include smartphone integration and fuel saving electronic power steering among others. While in the safety department, the model gets hill start assist, collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control and low speed follow traffic crawl.

No details on price have been announced as on date but estimates put the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback close to $19,475 (INR13,06,284) which is the base price of the Honda Civic Sedan. First examples of the Hatchback have already entered production at Honda UK plant in Swindon and are slated to enter company showrooms by this Fall.
