Hyderabad: India has a great demand for post-harvest agricultural devices, which are used for processing the harvested crops. There are several ways for second green revolution. There is need for shifting focus from a community to a system considering the soil, fertility, water resources, etc, said a senior official at Telangana agriculture department.

C Parthasarathy, secretary, Telangana Agri and Cooperation Dept, spoke at ‘Agripace 2017,’ an international agricultural conference and expo organized by Cenetri Group in association with Centre for Good Governance, Interface Agricultural technology and Prof Jaya Shankar Telengana State Agriculture University at Rajendra Nagar campus on Monday.

Dr Swaminathan said that the farmers need knowledge about latest technologies. “A farmer can just be a mere literate, but we can train the farmer. Let a farmer be a literate or illiterate, he can learn the things. The farmers need to be provided with a platform where an illiterate farmer can be trained,” said Swaminathan.
