“Actors are like nomads. The film unit becomes our family. And just when we are getting comfortable with the family, we have to move to a new family,” said Deepika Padukone speaking at an event in Hyderabad to promote her upcoming film ‘Finding Fanny’. She was accompanied by co-star Arjun Kapoor and director Homi Adajania.

The reply came in response to the question – “Which moment through the entire shoot was the most memorable one? “The last day of the shoot is definitely the most memorable one as that culminates all the fun and bonding,” she added.

But ‘Finding Fanny’ wasn’t just bonding but a learning experience for her too. “With such experienced actors around, there was so much to learn,” she says as Arjun interrupts her to add, “But in this film, nobody was treated as a senior or a junior. Rather Homi made us feel equal as actors.”

As the actors speak, the discussion moves to Dimple Kapadia and when Homi is quizzed if she’s his lucky charm considering she has been seen in all his films, he replies, “I don’t have any lucky charm. But Dimple is always the right casting for me.”

He adds jokingly, “And now she bullies me into casting her in my films and I don’t know if I will be able to make a film without her.”

Though the actors were not willing to talk about anything other than the film, Deepika finally did spill the beans as to what her connection with Hyderabad is. “The first time I came here was in Class VI! There was a school trip and we stayed here for three days and went around. Other than that, work brings me here all the time and of course the food here is lovely too,” she says.

Even Arjun – unwillingly – answered a personal question though he called it “too heavy for a press meet like this”. When asked who his pillar of strength was after his mother, he replied after a brief moment, “She is irreplaceable. But I have my sister, family and friends who are there for me when I need them.”

Though the trio did spend some time speaking to the media, they however – especially Deepika and Arjun, didn’t seem to be forthcoming or excited about the promotion. Stardom doesn’t come easy. Agreed! And once you are a busy star, the need for promoting films is an added stress. But that’s a part and parcel of the job. So despite pressure, we’d appreciate if you could flash more smiles!
