Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is basking in the glory of ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’, has announced his intention of making a biopic on his father NT Rama Rao.

Nimmakuru: Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is basking in the glory of ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’, has announced his intention of making a biopic on his father NT Rama Rao.

“I will be making a film on Rama Rao garu and I will be playing his part,” Balayya declared, clearly hinting that it might be his 101st film as his long-in-the-planning film with Krishna Vamsi, ‘Rythu’, might take some more time to roll.

He was speaking at a TDP-related event here on Monday. Balayya, who is the sixth son of NTR, said: “The biopic will contain many unknown facets on the life of NTR. Many books have been written on him and we are speaking to several authors who followed his life closely.

Three aspects of his life will be touched upon primarily and the script is currently being prepared.” While Balayya failed to reveal who would helm the project saying they he hasn’t zeroed in on one yet, a strong buzz doing the rounds indicates that Puri Jagannadh is the frontrunner to bag the project. Vishnu Induri is tipped to produce it.

NTR, known as the pride of Telugus, had acted in about 350 films and was revered as the screen God for his portrayal of roles like Sri Rama, Sri Krishna and Lord Venkateshwara besides many mythological and historical characters.

NTR founded the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the early eighties and created a record by riding to power in a short span of nine months.

He served as Chief Minister of (united) Andhra Pradesh from 1983 to 1989 and later between December 1994 and August 1995.
