Filmmaker Puri Jagannadh says he is not making ‘Auto Jaani’–the script that he conceived for Megastar Chiranjeevi–with Nandamuri Balakrishna. The director has completed the first schedule of the untitled film with Balayya in Hyderabad recently. “It is neither ‘Auto Jaani’ nor it is inspired from ‘John Wick’. I am making the film with one of my stories.

It is not as if I have always had just one idea for Balakrishna garu. In the film, he would be seen as a gangster. Newbie Muskaan is cast opposite him,” Puri declared while promoting ‘Rogue’, his Friday release, in Hyderabad on Monday.

When asked whether there will be any dialogues laced with political touch in the movie since Balayya is a sitting MLA, Puri insisted that there won't be any. "All the dialogues will be character-driven," he clarified.

About his filmmaking funda, Puri added, “After I write a script, I narrate it to my producers and actors. If they are okay with it, I simply go ahead with my gut feeling on sets. While making ‘Pokiri’, I knew I was making a good film but never did I expect it to become the blockbuster that it eventually did.

A film’s success is determined by many factors like the timing of the release. You will not taste success with every film of yours. Syd Field is recognised worldwide for his books on screenplay and many aspiring writers and directors follow his works. He directed two films but both of them didn’t set the cash registers ringing. The thing is theory is different from practice.”
