Move over thin-looking actors, it seems to be the season of rippling biceps and dash-board abs in T-town. With young actor Nara Rohit also unveiling his sculpted body in the poster of his upcoming film ‘Balakrishnudu’, the list of muscled actors is growing by the day.
Move over thin-looking actors, it seems to be the season of rippling biceps and dash-board abs in T-town. With young actor Nara Rohit also unveiling his sculpted body in the poster of his upcoming film ‘Balakrishnudu’, the list of muscled actors is growing by the day.
Even though, it was Allu Arjun who set the trend with his 6-pack abs in ‘Desamuduru’ and delivered biggest hit of his career ‘Sarrainodu’ banking on his rippling biceps and curved physique. “Allu Arjun could draw openings for ‘DJ’ since his dhoti-clad action avatar was the USP of the film and bolstered his fan following among masses.
The lover-boy-turned-action hero will do more angry-young man roles to keep up his stardom,” says producer Bujji. However, his colleagues Prabhas and Rana took action adventure to the next level with warrior-roles in ‘Bahubali franchise’ and their beefed up avatars won appreciation across the globe.
“Prabhas has taken the world by storm with his sculpted body and breathed life into the roles of Amarendra and Mahendra Bahubali in epic fantasy. Eventually, to become the new-age warrior and the biggest star,” says leading producer Bogavalli Prasad who made action film ‘Chatrapati’ with the ‘Darling’ star.
“His anger-driven role in ‘Chatrapati, showcased his brooding anger but he has become the darling of masses, with `Bahubali,’ he adds. Whereas, director Samudra, praises hotshot Rana for his menacing performance as ‘Bhallaladeva’ and raised the bar on baddy roles. “Rana’s beefed up look and his introduction scene where he mows down a raging bull, fetched him a larger-than-life image overnight, while it took years for his peers to attain the same,’.
Even reigning star Ram Charan Tej had to indulge in killer workouts for his cop role in ‘Dhruva’ and revamp his image. “Ram Charan’s new avatar got him closer to fans. Surely, beefed up looks make the action sequences more realistic and believable, so the trend is bound to continue with other stars, sooner than later,’ adds producer Bujji.
