All eyes on Nayan's ‘Karthavyam’
Close on the heels of glam diva Anushka delivering a blockbuster \'Bhaagmathie,\' all eyes are now set on another popular actress Nayantara as her female-centric film \'Karthavyam\' is releasing on Friday. \"She plays an upright District Collector in this hard-hitting film and takes on the might of powers-that-be in support of the poor and the needy,\" said distributor Bharat Bhushan.
Close on the heels of glam diva Anushka delivering a blockbuster 'Bhaagmathie,' all eyes are now set on another popular actress Nayantara as her female-centric film 'Karthavyam' is releasing on Friday. "She plays an upright District Collector in this hard-hitting film and takes on the might of powers-that-be in support of the poor and the needy," said distributor Bharat Bhushan.
"Even in Chennai, the film didn't take off on day one, but only after Nayantara began to tour the theatres, the film turned out to be a blockbuster on the word-of-mouth publicity and also due to her scintillating performance," he adds.
The Telugu producers have reportedly bought the Telugu dubbing rights for Rs 1.5 crore and should be hoping to draw good openings in the two Telugu states to recover their investment. "Nayantara has the capacity to pull in crowds on the strength of her name and if the story is good enough, she can spell magic at the box-office once again.”
Her earlier solo hit was 'Mayuri’, Bhushan concludes. The actress has already tasted moderate success with 'Jaisimha,' opposite Balakrishna and the talented actress has to impress the Telugu audience in a larger-than-life role which revolves around saving a kid stuck in a boring well and how she overcomes the political and bureaucratic pressures to
accomplish her mission.
Nayan has already bagged a few awards and she just needs to repeat the success in AP and TS. That remains to be seen.
