Homesick engineering student kills self
An 18-year-old engineering student from Khammam, allegedly suffering from homesickness, ended her life by hanging to the ceiling in her hostel room at Nizampet on Thursday. The deceased girl, Sravani (18), was studying engineering first year at Gokaraju Rangaraju Engineering College and was staying in Triveni Ladies Hostel in Nizampet.
Hyderabad: An 18-year-old engineering student from Khammam, allegedly suffering from homesickness, ended her life by hanging to the ceiling in her hostel room at Nizampet on Thursday. The deceased girl, Sravani (18), was studying engineering first year at Gokaraju Rangaraju Engineering College and was staying in Triveni Ladies Hostel in Nizampet.
When three of her roommates went to college on Thursday, Sravani stayed back. In the afternoon, the depressed girl hanged to the ceiling with a cloth. Her roommates after coming from the college, saw Sravani hanging and informed the police.
The KPHB police, on reaching the spot, recovered a note, reportedly written by Sravani before ending her life. The preliminary investigation revealed that the girl was feeling homesick for some days. However, the police have registered a case under suspicious death and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and are
investigating.
