Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police arrested a nurse from Mehdipatnam for stealing valuables from the houses where she worked and recovered property worth Rs 4.5 lakh from her possession.

The accused woman identified as Yeruva Mary Sunitha (38), a native of Gurajala in Guntur district has completed nursing and came to city for employment.

She has been working in various home care services as a caretaker of old age patients, said Banjara Hills ACP Uday Kumar Reddy. The ACP said since January this year, she committed thefts at three houses in Jubilee Hills, SR Nagar and Abids. She fled with 12 tolas gold ornaments, one laptop, one iPad and Rs 18,000 in cash.

She was arrested 10 times earlier and was convicted in five cases, Reddy said.Subsequently, a team was formed to nab the accused and she was picked up from her residence.

During questioning, she confessed to have committed the offences. The team recovered gold ornaments weighing 12 tolas, a laptop and an iPad, all worth Rs 4.5 lakh from the accused woman’s possession and she was remanded, the ACP said.
