Ravi Krishna said Sailendernadh Reddy had come to the RTC bus stand to see off his relatives at Nandyal bus stand on Monday night. After his relatives boarded the bus, he was reversing his car and unintentionally hit a two-wheeler.

It led to a heated argument between him and four persons who were in an inebriated state. But passersby pacified both the parties.

However, the four persons again intercepted the doctor’s vehicle at Srinivasa Circle and attacked him. Sailendernath Reddy received a fatal stone hit on his head and was immediately rushed to the Nandyal General Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

Based on a complaint lodged by his parents, a case was filed, said the SP. On receiving a tip-off, I Town CI I Prataph Reddy and his team arrested the culprits at Nandyal Cheruvu Katta near Mulamattam. The SP appreciated the efforts of the DSP, the CI and his team.
