Nalgonda: Four persons died and six others were injured when a TSRTC bus hit an auto rickshaw near Kalvapally village of Gurrampode mandal in the district on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Goddeti Alivelu (45), Maddi Srinaiah (45), Mounika (18) and Eedamma (60), of same family.

The accident occurred when the RTC bus hit the auto rickshaw coming in opposite direction while trying to overtake another vehicle. The victims were going to Pogakuvarigudem village of P A Pally mandal in the auto rickshaw to attend a relative’s death ceremony.

The police shifted the six injured to Devarakonda Area Hospital by 108 Ambulance. Three of the injured were shifted to Hyderabad as their condition was serious. The bodies were shifted to Devarakonda Area hospital for postmortem. Gurrampode Sub-Inspector Venkata Saikishore informed the bus driver’s negligence caused the accident. A case was registered and investigation is on.

Minister expresses grief Minister for Transport Mahender Reddy, in a press release, expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident at Kaalvapally village. He directed the officials to ensure better treatment to the injured. Stringent action would be taken against the driver, who was responsible for the accident, the Minister warned.
