Woman kills son, cuts body to pieces

Amaravati: In a gruesome incident, a woman bludgeoned her son and chopped off his organs for the last one week at Bodipalem village under Kakamanu mandal of Guntur district .According to police, the accused Battineni Anjanadevi (60) was deserted by husband and was staying with her son B Koteswara Rao (40) and his wife Sailaja.

The deceased sold his 1.67 acres of land and spent the money to get treatment for his health problems. When he was left with no money for treatment, he forced his mother Anjanadevi to sell her 3.23 acres of land and give him money, but she refused. This led to an argument between the mother and son and the duo quarreled for several times.

The accused informed the matter to his brother G Nageswara Rao and M Nagalakshmi, They hatched a plan to kill him. When her daughter-in-law Sailaja was out of town, they hit him with a pestle and stuffed his body into a gunny bag which was kept near the house. When the foul smell started emanating, the woman started cutting his organs every day for the last one week.

Last night, when she was trying to separate head from the torso, the neighbours noticed the incident and informed police. A police team, led by Circle Inspector Subramanyam, raided the house and found the trunk box. The police arrested Anjanadevi and her daughter Nagalakshmi. Another accused Nageswara Rao is at large. The incident created sensation in the village.
