Two police personneland one civilian died and five others were injured in a road accident at Dayyalagandi of Nagarjuna Sagar on Monday.
Nagarjuna Sagar: Two police personneland one civilian died and five others were injured in a road accident at Dayyalagandi of Nagarjuna Sagar on Monday.
According to Nagarjuna Sagar police, when a tractor carrying grass over-turned on the road near Dayyalagandi causing traffic to a halt, home guard Balu Naik and SPF Mariadas rushed to the spot.
While clearing the traffic, a speeding lorry lost its control and hit the tractor first and then the police jeep. In the mishap, along with the two police personnel, one civilian identified as Chandraiah lost his life while five others who were assisting the police in clearing the traffic sustained injuries.
The injured were taken to the local Kamala Nehru hospital and later were shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment. Police registered a case and investigation is on.
