Probe reveals no usage of drugs in SVUEC hostel
The police probe revealed the reports of students using drugs in the Sri Venkateswara University Engineering College (SVUEC) hostel as false. According to SVU SI Raghavendra, first year B Tech students have placed an order for a hookah with Amazon website for recreational purpose.
Tirupati: The police probe revealed the reports of students using drugs in the Sri Venkateswara University Engineering College (SVUEC) hostel as false. According to SVU SI Raghavendra, first year B Tech students have placed an order for a hookah with Amazon website for recreational purpose. During search on Monday night, the SI said that the police personnel found a hookah pot and non-tobacco material from Room No 3033 at SVUCE hostel but not drugs as reported by a section of media.

He said students have used hookah for inhaling non-tobacco material. The police warned and counseled the students. Speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday, SVU Registrar Prof Devarajula Naidu stated that university has ordered for a probe into the incident. He further said that university will take action based on the probe report.
