Guntur city police busted an inter-state burglars gang which was involved in several houses breakings in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu and recovered 252.985 grams gold and 500 grams silver from their possession. The value of seized property is estimated as Rs10 lakh.

Guntur: Guntur city police busted an inter-state burglars gang which was involved in several houses breakings in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu and recovered 252.985 grams gold and 500 grams silver from their possession. The value of seized property is estimated as Rs10 lakh.

According to Guntur Urban Superintendent of Police Sarva Sresta Tripati, accused Kunchala Nagaraju, who hails from Brugubanda in Sattenapalli mandal, went to Velu in Tamil Nadu to eke out his livelihood. When he was working there he broke the the doors of the houses and decamped with gold and silver ornaments. He went to jail in connection with a theft case in 2008 and was released from the jail in 2010. He said that Nagaraju was accused in 19 theft cases in Tamil Nadu.


After releasing from jail, he came to Guntur district and was involved in house breakings and decamped with gold and silver ornaments in Vipparla in Krosuru mandal, Vejendra in Cherborlu mandal, Vengalapalem, Dharanikota and Phirangipuram.
On suspicion, police took him into custody and during the interrogation, he confessed to committing the crime. The police recovered Rs10 lakh worth gold and silver from his possession.
