Tanuku police arrested a burglar in the town on Tuesday and recovered 8.86 lakh worth gold ornaments. The accused had changed his residence to Tadepalligudem and was targeting the locked houses in Tanuku and other areas.

The accused had changed his residence to Tadepalligudem and was targeting the locked houses in Tanuku and other areas.

He recently burgled house at Velpuru village in Tanuku town and snatched away 39 sovereigns of gold ornaments, half a kilo silver ornaments and Rs 40,000 cash. The police team had eyed on the movements of Mohiuddin and taken him into the custody when he was found wandering around Sarmishta centre in Tanuku town. The accused agreed his crimes, the CI said. The police arrested him and recovered the gold ornaments, silver articles and Rs 40,000 cash.

Later the accused was produced before the magistrate court and the magistrate remanded him. Town and Rural Si’ G Srinivasa Rao, B Jagadeswara Rao and their party nabbed the culprit. SP Bhaskar Bhushan appreciated police efforts, CI said.
