The Rachakonda Police on Monday arrested six persons, five Nigerian nationals and one Indian woman, for their alleged involvement in procurement and supply of drugs. The arrests were made in a joint operation by Special Operations Team (SOT) of Rachakonda Commissionerate and LB Nagar police.

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Police on Monday arrested six persons, five Nigerian nationals and one Indian woman, for their alleged involvement in procurement and supply of drugs. The arrests were made in a joint operation by Special Operations Team (SOT) of Rachakonda Commissionerate and LB Nagar police.

The police seized 20 grams of Cocaine, 12 grams of Brown Sugar, 39.8 grams of Amphetamine tablets and pieces, three Laptops, Net cash of Rs. 2.04 lakh, 6 Pass ports and 9 mobile phones from their possession. The net worth of seized items is about Rs. 9.70 lakh. A case under Cr. No 813/2017 U/s 8 (c) R/w 20 (b) (ii) A and 27 of NDPS Act 1985, Sec 120(B) IPC, Sec 3 (2) (a) and 6 (a) of the Passport Entry in to India Rules-1950 and Sec 7 (i) (iii) of the Foreign Act-1948 r/w Sec 14 of the Foreigners Act-1946 of LB Nagar PS has been registered against them.

The arrested accused person have been identified as Palaparthi Sangeetha, John Okorie, Ojukwu Cosmas, Okereke Cyril Anezi, Joan Paul Oneybuchi and Ogunka Henry Okechukwu. Visa of three out of five Nigerian nationals have expired.

Police also found more than 25 contacts of the drug traffickers in their mobile phones and bank statements which are being investigated.
