Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl was found murdered in Ameenpur hills, Sangareddy district on Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Chandini Jain, a native of Miyapur and she was studying in second year Intermediate in a corporate college in Bachupally.

Chandini Jain, a resident of Satyanarayana Enclave in Miyapur left the house by informing her parents that she was going to attend a party but did not return home till night and as her mobile was also switched off, the panicked parents approached police and a kidnap case was booked on Saturday night. The locals of Ameenpur spotted the body of the girl in Ameenpur hills and alerted the police.

The police found her decomposed body on hillocks and based on the tattoo marks they identified her as Chandini. The body was partly burnt after dousing with petrol, according to police. Three persons have been taken into custody which includes two super-seniors. Police suspect that there was an attempt to rape her before she was killed.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Sandeep Shandilya visited the scene of offence. The police are closely analysing the CCTV footage. Police said according to CCTV footage near her house in Deeptisrinagar in Madinaguda, Chandni followed a man who took her away in an auto after she left home on Saturday evening.

Chandini was later seen walking along with a man who was wearing shorts near Ameenur hills after getting down from the auto. This was close to the spot where her body was found.

The person who was spotted with her is said to be her boyfriend. It is suspected that she was beaten by him following some argument between the two. The police, however, suspect that there were more than one person who were involved in the crime. It is suspected that the culprits who were addicted to ganja consumed it under its influence tried to rape her. As she resisted, they might have injured her and later killed her, the police say.

Three youth who were in her contact list and were in communication with her were taken into custody and are being questioned. The facts are likely to be revealed on Wednesday after interrogation of these suspects.

They are also trying to trace out the contact, whose mobile number was found in victim's phone, under the name of 'My Heart.' This person is suspected to be Chandni’s boyfriend. The post-mortem report confirmed that she was strangulated to death.

The doctors who examined the body of Chandni said that there were wound marks on her face, neck and legs. Given the condition of the body, the police are awaiting for FSL report to establish whether or not she was raped. A CLUES team under the supervision of ACP Ravi Kumar is conducting investigation to identify the killers. Sangareddy SP Chandrasekhar Reddy who visited the spot said the culprits will be nabbed at the earliest.

Meanwhile, the family members suspect this to be a planned murder, as the father of victim, Kishore Jain is a businessman. However, they denied enmity as the possible motive behind the murder.

“After coming from College, she left home telling that she was going to a friend’s house at around 5.30 pm. When we tried to call her after an hour, he mobile remained switch-off. After contacting in vain to the friends and relatives to know about her whereabouts, we complained to the police,” said Niveditha Jain, her elder sister. Her mother said that Chandini was a bubbly girl and was friendly with people. She wanted to become a model.
