A 22-year-old youth was brutally murdered by unknown miscreants at Bus Stand centre in Kovvuru town on Wednesday.
Eluru: A 22-year-old youth was brutally murdered by unknown miscreants at Bus Stand centre in Kovvuru town on Wednesday.
According to police, Gandham Butchibabu, 22, a welder by profession had enmity with another group Lathi Dinakar and his henchmen. On September 3, there was a clash between Dinakara group and Butchibabu. Later, Butchibabu complained to police against Dinakar group. With this, the opposite group bore a grudge against Butchibabu.
On Wednesday evening, when Butchibabu was going on his motorbike, the opposite group attacked him at the Bus Stand centre in Kovvuru. They indiscriminately stabbed him to death and fled away from the spot. Kovvuru town police shifted the body for post-mortem.
Butchibabu is survived by wife and a girl child. The family resides at Christianpeta in Kovvuru town, police police said.
Kovvur DSP Venkateswara Rao said Butchibabu and other group members had some old rivalries. “We will nab the culprits soon,” he added.
