A thief had robbed a gold chain from a woman and fled away on a motorcycle at Pedda Masjid Street in Gudur town on Tuesday. According to sources and police, Bujjamma (35) was on a hunt for a rented house in Masjid Street.

One youngster suddenly came and snatched away gold chain weighing 3 sovereigns worth Rs 1 lakh from her and fled away from the scene. Shocked Bujjamma lodged a complaint with Gudur I-Town police station.
On receiving the information, patrolling police rushed to Masjid Centre and enquired about the situation. The police conducted searches for the thief in the adjoining areas. A case was registered and investigation is on,’ said Gudur SI A Sudhakar.
