Man butchers wife, attempts suicide
In a barbaric incident, a man slit his wife’s throat on road in broad daylight and attempted to commit suicide by slitting his throat with the same knife. The gory incident occurred in Narsingapur village in Jagtial district on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the deceased, identified as Vasantha (25), was waiting for a vehicle to go to her mother's house in Vemulawada. Meanwhile, her husband Balaraju (30), waylaid Vasantha and attacked her with a knife and slit her throat even as the passersby and bus commuters were watching the incident in horror.
Balaraju also immediately attempted suicide by slitting his throat. On receipt of the information, police rushed to the spot and rushed the accused to the Sircilla government hospital in a critical condition. Locals said the couple got married five years ago and had two daughters and a son. They used to quarrel frequently over some issue or other.
