A chain-snatcher, who indulged in series of offences targeting women walkers at KBR Park, was arrested on Monday. The Banjara Hills police recovered six gold chains out of seven, weighing 250 grams worth Rs 8 lakhs, along with a packet of chilli powder used in the offences.

Hyderabad: A chain-snatcher, who indulged in series of offences targeting women walkers at KBR Park, was arrested on Monday. The Banjara Hills police recovered six gold chains out of seven, weighing 250 grams worth Rs 8 lakhs, along with a packet of chilli powder used in the offences.

According to police, the accused is identified as Natakar Narsaiah,alias Narsimha, alias Rishi (25), a car driver and resident of Yousufguda and native of Karnataka, single-handedly committed series of chain-snatchings since 2016, from women walkers visiting KBR Park during mornings and evenings.

The accused disposed stolen gold chains to a goldsmith Satyanarayana Chary. The accused also confessed to have committed two house burglaries during night hours, in KPHB police station limits. He also committed theft of a car from a house in 2013, which was also recovered. The police also arrested P Satyanarayana Chary (purchaser of gold ornaments), 45, Gold Smith and native of Anantapur, AP.
