Ongole: The judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nellore sentenced a corrupt officer to jail for a period of three years and fined Rs 3 lakh, announced the Prakasam district Anti Corruption Bureau office in Ongole on Thursday in a note.

According to the ACB officials, Uppalapati Mala Kondaiah, a native of Kothapalli village in SPSR Nellore district, worked as CTO at Ramachandrapuram in East Godavari district and was arrested in disproportionate of assets case vide Cr.No.13/RCA-NPK/2007 by the DSP of ACB, Ongole.

After completion of investigation, the ACB filed charge sheet in the case. As the public prosecutor PV Subbaiah was successful in establishing the case, Shaik Mohammad Rafi, the judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nellore delivered Judgement and convicted Mala Kondaiah on Thursday. He awarded the accused officer an imprisonment for a period of three years and fined Rs 3 lakh.
