Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police apprehended two African nationals in connection with an online fraud case here on Tuesday.

The accused have been identified as Prince Kanyinda (35), a Congo national, and Marwan Abdul Kareem (25), a Sudanese national. The accused were allegedly hacking email accounts by sending phishing emails. The accused were also asking financial assistance citing fake claims, the police said.

On Saturday, the police received a complaint from one Chandra Sekhar, stating that his mail ID had been hacked and misused. The hackers sent emails to his contact list requesting money providing their bank account details.

Using the IP address, the cybercrime police traced the accused and registered a case under Section 66 (C) & (D) ITA Act.
