The fifth Run for Caste-free India, under the joint auspices of Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DICCI), Shanti Chakra International and collaborated by Sports Coaching Foundation (SCF) will be held in the city on April 14.

Stating that this time around it was a significant year as it marks the 125th birth anniversary of the Father of Indian Constitution, Dr B R Ambedkar, and DICCI’s South India Chapter President Narra Ravi Kumar said on Tuesday that the response to the run has been increasing with each edition.

Over 10, 000 people drawn from diverse fields and of different age-groups will participate in the run that will commence at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road by 6.30am and culminate at the Dr Ambedkar Statue near Tank Bund.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and City Mayor B Ramamohan will participate in the run, besides a host of celebrities from the world of politics, entertainment and sports and social activists.

He said that they were striving to achieve the caste-free India that Babasaheb had envisioned and it was a good development that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged all States to organise similar runs and had extolled the citizens to see to it that India would symbolize peaceful coexistence.

President of DICCI Telangana State, P Srinivas, coordinators for Shanti Chakra International B Shyam and V Shruthi Rao and founder-Secretary of SCF, K Saibaba, jointly released the fifth Run for Caste-free India poster on the occasion.
