It’s sea of devotees at float fest
The temple authorities have made elaborate arrangements for devotees to have darshan of Lord Sitaramachandra swamy through the northern doorway.Temple surroundings reverberated with the chanting of Jai Sri Ram. Bhadrachalam: Amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by priests, the float festival of Lord Rama was celebrated on the shores of River Godavari here on Sunday with people from two Telugu States and also those from adjoining States taking part in the event. People gathered on the islands in the river. Annually on Mukkoti Ekadasi Day, the deities are taken down the river on a boat decorated in the form of a swan. Around 4.30 pm, Lord Sitaramachandra Swamy and Lord Lakshmana were brought in a procession to the river bank and after performing the special pujas, the idols were placed on the boat around 6 pm. The boat set sailed in the river amidst chanting of Vedic hymns and bursting of fire crackers.
