Khammam: Congress District Minority Cell president Baba Tajuddin demanded the State government to release the pending scholarships of the Minority community students.

Speaking at a meeting held here on Tuesday, he threatened to launch an agitation if the government fails to fulfil its poll promises such as 12 per cent reservation to Muslims.

He also demanded the government to provide houses under double bedroom scheme in rural areas. The other demands included release of Rs 2 crore fund for the repair and renovation of the Urdu Ghar in the city, filling of vacancies in minority schools and sanction of auto-rickshaws to urban Muslims.

Minority Cell city president Md Isaak, who presided over the meeting, felicitated Tajuddin, who completed one year as the district minority cell president.

Senior leaders Sheikh Ghouse, Balaji Rao, Chote Baba, Farid Khader, Syed Ghouse, N Naresh Naidu and Jayaram were among others present.
