Karimnagar: District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed lambasted officials concerned for not completing construction works of individual sanitary latrines (ISL) in Huzurabad mandal within the time limit.

He chaired a review meeting with officials, who adopted mandals and villages for completing the construction works of toilets in Huzurabad mandal, at the Collectorate conference hall in Karimnagar on Tuesday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Collector questioned the technical assistant and computer operator as to why they didn’t enter online when 633 ISLs were completed in the mandal. He ordered the DRDO to issue show-cause notice to officials concerned for their negligence and for not completing ISLs’ construction works on time even after releasing the funds of about Rs 15.4 lakhs for the same well in advance on January 21.

‘When the entire district administration is striving hard to complete the construction of ISLs in the district, the construction works of the same in Huzurabad mandal are going at a snail’s pace,’ he pointed out. He warned that the negligent officials irresponsible for the delay would be suspended.

The Collector ordered the officials to issue show-cause notices to Mandal Tahsildars and MPDOs, who behaved negligently and for not completing the construction works of 132 ISLs, even after Finance Minister and himself holding several meetings and giving directions to the officials to speed up the works. The details of pending constructions must be entered online by Wednesday.

Otherwise stringent action will be taken against them, he warned. Sarfaraz Ahmed asked the officials to organise a meeting every day in the evening at MPDO office since there is a lack of coordination among the officials and ordered them to upload the photos of the completed works online by visiting the village two times in a day.

District Rural Development Officer Venkateshwar Rao, Rural Water Supply Department Superintending Engineer Prakash Rao and officers, who adopted mandals and villages, District Panchayat Raj Officer Narayana Rao were present along with others.
