Addressing officials during a review meeting at Chitrakuta Mandapam on the temple premises, the Collector advised them to work in tandem in view of the interest of large number of devotees to be expected.

Stressing the need for officials to remain courteous towards pilgrims, Hanumanthu asked directed the officials to set up laddu counters at main centres, bus stands and choultries. Additional counters to supply Talambralu and Prasadam should be opened, he said.

In view of the Governor and Chief Minister’s visit on the day of Srirama Navami, the Collector said barricades should be provided in the helipad area, besides colouring the dividers.

Special sanitation work should be taken up near the Devasthanam area, he directed. Asking the Panchayat department officials to ensure provision of drinking water and beautification of the town, Hanumanthu called for efficient management of traffic.

The Collector also called for putting of warning boards for the benefit of devotees not to enter low-lying areas and to keep ready expert swimmers and boats, ensure uninterrupted power supply, besides averting mishaps in the Kalyana Mandapam.

He asked Tahsildars to provide parking areas also at Sarapaka and directed the temple Executive Officer to be cautious in handing of Talambralu near the temple and advised him to restrict the movement of devotees to 200 metres away besides setting up the control room in the revenue divisional office.

Hanumanthu further directed the Fire Officer to inspect the spot where the Chief Minister was to be seated on the day of Kalyanam and issue the relevant certificate. The work of the Bhadradri bridge patch along with that of the internal roads should be completed, he stated. Steps should be taken to ensure that there was no shortage of medicines in the Health department’s stall. An ambulance should be kept ready along with ORS packets.

He said 250 RTC buses were likely to be operated this year, including those to Kothagudem railway station and on the Bhadrachalam-Hyderabad route. Heavy vehicles should not be allowed into the town on the Navami day.

Sale of non-vegetarian items and liquor should be stopped on specified days, Hanumanthu directed the officials. Ambulances (108) and emergency services, including 10 beds, should be made available in the area hospital for two days.
