Missing Canadian in Maoists hotbed staying with NGO?
A Canadian, John Schlazak, who went missing on Monday, is reportedly staying with an NGO working in Dandakaranya region.
Bhadrachalam: A Canadian, John Schlazak, who went missing on Monday, is reportedly staying with an NGO working in Dandakaranya region.
According to unconfirmed reports reaching here at 8 pm on Tuesday, he is understood to be with an NGO working in health sector.
On Monday, he went to the village Singanamadugu in the Moist-affected Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on his bicycle and ever since his whereabouts were not known.
John, who reached Chhattisgarh from Mumbai on March 14, was suspected to be kidnapped by the Maoists.
The police meanwhile tried to gather information from his travel agent when calls made to his mobile phone went unanswered. With the social media going agog over his missing, the police had stepped up intelligence to gather information about his whereabouts.
Bastar Inspector-General of Police Sundar Raj, at a press conference, has said that no effort was being spared to find out whereabouts of John.
