Warangal: The enthusiasm among the public to listen to the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at the TRS 16th Foundation Day public meeting at Prakashreddypeta is obvious.

The public meeting is the first one that is taking place on such a massive scale in the State three years after the TRS assumed power and it has made the common public, TRS supporters and workers excited at what the CM is going to say.

Thousands of vehicles, decked up with pink flags, from all directions came to the city on the day carrying the public and TRS cadre. Buses, tractors, mini-vans, cars, two-wheelers and even bi-cycles have been employed by the public.

For instance, a TRS supporter from Bhadrachalam in Bhadradri Kothagudem district has reached Warangal on bi-cycle along with his nine-year-old son to attend the meeting. The person, called Tutika Prakash, a B Sc graduate and engaged in farming told The Hans India that he set off on the journey four days ago.

Carrying a ‘Nagali’ (plough) and food items on an improvised canopy built on the bi-cycle carried on his journey day and night. “We rested after cooking and having dinner during night. We also travelled in the night to avoid exhaustion due to summer heat,” he explained.

“I am a supporter of Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao and very eager to know what he is going to say. We, the farming community, have really impressed with his decision to offer Rs 4,000 per acre to procure fertilisers. It helps a lot for farmers with small land holdings like me,” he noted.

Even the employees are also equally keen to listen to the CM. “We availed a leave today to attend the TRS public meeting as we wish to the CM,” said an employee of Singareni Collieries Company Limited Mettu Sugandar Rao of Centenary Colony of Peddapalli district who arrived here along with a large group of his friends.

Meanwhile, the Agriculture Minister, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has arrived here leading a cavalcade of hundreds of tractors that travelled nearly 250 kilometres from Nizamabad district. The procession of tractors which he led stood as an attraction.

The Minister’s venture has drawn admiration from public in view of the fact that he drove the tractor despite his age and delicate health condition. “It has given me immense satisfaction to travel like this and en route I witnessed the public enthusiasm to attend the meeting,” he noted.

From erstwhile Khammam district four special trains are operated to Warangal from Khammam town Bhadrachalam, Manuguru and Errupalem to transport the public attending the meeting. The trains are halted by the side the venue at Prakashreddypet allowing the public to get off.
