Sircilla: As many as 60 children were rescued as part of Operation Muskan - 3 in the district till date, informed District in-charge Welfare Officer Yellaiah. He warned of taking stringent action against the persons, who employ child labour.

As a part of the Central government’s drive Operation Muskan – 3, the rescue operation of children of below 14 years age and working as labourers in the district will be carried on up to July 31, he said. The drive has begun on July 11.

The children, who were found begging, working as labourers and not attending schools are identified and were provided protection through Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS).

The in-charge Welfare Officer suggested shop owners and business persons not to employ children as workers and warned that stringent action will be taken if they disobey the orders.

Yellaiah said that the team with ICPS representative M Raj Kumar, Sircilla Sub-Inspector of police Shravan, Child Help Line representative O Raj Kumar and supervisors will continue the rescue operation till July 31.
