With 10 percent of the population worldwide having some form of kidney damage, there is a long road ahead to raise awareness about the myths of kidney disease. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), which is predicted to increase by 17 percent over the next decade, is now recognised by WHO and other organisations as a global public health issue.

Keeping in view of these Care Group of Hospitals Urology and Nephrology doctors Initiated Pubic Health Awareness Program on Kidney Diseases ‘Know Your Kidneys Better’ at Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium on March 23 from 10am to 12noon. The programme in collaboration with Jeevandhan was held at Ravindrabharathi where a team of Urology and Nephrology department doctors from CARE hospitals shared their thoughts on Prevention of Kidney Diseases and Myths on Kidney Transplantation.

In the programme, CARE Group of Hospitals Nephrologists Dr Vikranth Reddy delivered a presentation on the Risk Factors and Prevention of Kidney Disease and highlighted the importance of regular screening. Chairman and Managing Director of CARE Group of Hospitals Dr Swarnalatha Co-Ordinator Jeevandhan graced the programme as the Chief guest and encouraged the participants to perform regular screening of their health.

Dr Santosh Hede, Dr B V Rama Raju, Dr K Rama Raju, Dr K Prasad Raju, Dr Shaista Hussaini, Dr R Revathi, Dr N Padmakar, Dr Ashwin Kumar Aiyangar, Dr G Suresh Kumar, Dr Srikanth G, Dr A Mallikarjuna, Dr Abdul Fatah, Dr Shiva Raj Manoharan, Dr Ankit Mody, Dr P Rekha, were among the guest speakers. Among the 680 participants who went through screening Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar Check-up along with BMI and enrolled for privilege coupon.
