The popular among the bags are those with motifs of popular animation characters, Avenger bags, Minions, Dora, Chota Bheem and Spiderman trolley bags. Mostly Disney and Frozen bags are remained all-time favourites and are more sold out in the market. The range begins from Rs 1,299 and goes up to Rs 2,699.

While there are a few all season merchandise like the Doraemon, Spiderman, superman and Disney Princess; every year there is this one or two characters that suddenly gain in popularity and the back to school merchandise is designed around these popular characters. This year is the Minions that are the hot favourite.

So, you have water bottles, pencil boxes and lunch boxes of Minions to attract the kids. The Minions merchandise range starts from Rs190 and goes up to Rs 500. The bags are a little higher in price. Avengers and Angry birds too are dominating the back to school market.

On an average, parents will have shell out anywhere between Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 or more for a child in a lower primary class if they plan to buy the entire set, and the choice is too attractive to ignore. Of course, the less popular the cartoon character on your bag, the cheaper it would be.
