Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhaskar Rao, MD & CEO, KIMS Hospitals said, “The objective today is to convey to the practising gynecologists ways to classify Pelvic Organ Prolapse and its relevance in their daily practice.”

KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad hosted the 10th CME presentation by UPIA (Urogynecology, Pelvic floor disorders and Incontinence Association) on Friday.The CME was led by Dr Swarajyalakshmi, Sr Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The speakers included Dr P Balamba, (former Prof. and HOD, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Additional Superintendent of Osmania General Hospital) and Dr Nirmala, (MD, DNB, Fellow Urogynecology, KIMS Hospitals). Around 80 delegates participated in the session.

As part of the session, less-known equipment for Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation was demonstrated to the delegates. In addition, the common symptoms faced by women of all ages, more so in the higher age group, like urgency and loss of urine on laughing, sneezing or coughing was evaluated.
